Committees and Working Parties
Chacewater Parish Council sometimes sets up committees or working parties to focus on specific areas of its work.
Committees are formal groups made up of councillors. They are given clear responsibilities by the Council and can meet regularly to discuss issues such as planning, finance, or local services. Committees may also have sub-committees for more detailed work. They must follow the same rules as full Council meetings.
Working Parties are more informal. They are usually set up to look into specific tasks or projects and can include both councillors and members of the public. They don’t make decisions themselves but provide advice or recommendations for the Council or a committee to consider.
Both play an important role in helping the Council work more effectively and involve the community in local matters.
Planning Committee
All councillors are members of the Planning Committee which meets on an ad-hoc basis to consider planning applications that could not be considered at an ordinary full council meeting.
Meetings are typically mid-month on Fridays.
