Reporting road safety concerns in Chacewater
Chacewater Parish Council welcomes residents’ efforts to help improve road safety within the parish.
If you witness dangerous driving, traffic offences, or other road safety incidents, these should be reported directly to Devon & Cornwall Police through their established reporting channels:
- Online reporting: Report a road traffic incident
- General reporting: Report a crime or incident
- Non-emergency telephone: 101
Online reports are assessed in the same way as reports made by telephone and help ensure incidents are properly logged and considered.
Operation Snap
Residents who have video evidence of moving traffic offences, such as footage from a dashcam, cycle camera or mobile phone, may also wish to use submit footage via Operation Snap, a secure online service provided by Devon & Cornwall Police.
Through Operation Snap, members of the public can submit footage of incidents they have witnessed. Where appropriate, this evidence may be used by the police to support enforcement action, driver education, warnings, or prosecution.
Why Reporting Matters
Road safety assessments rely on evidence gathered over time. Reporting incidents helps the relevant authorities build a clearer understanding of local concerns and traffic conditions, informing both enforcement activity and future road safety considerations.
